3. Body Temperature

Temperature helps identify infections and other health issues.

  • Normal range: 36.1°C–37.5°C (97°F–99.5°F)

A fever (anything above 38°C / 100.4°F) often means the body is fighting an infection.
Low body temperature (hypothermia) can be just as dangerous, usually caused by exposure to cold or certain illnesses.

You can measure temperature with a digital thermometer — orally, under the arm, or in the ear.

4. Blood Pressure

Blood pressure shows how strongly your blood pushes against artery walls as the heart pumps. It’s recorded with two numbers, such as 120/80 mmHg:

  • 120 (systolic) = pressure when the heart beats
  • 80 (diastolic) = pressure when the heart relaxes

A reading below 90/60 is considered low, while above 140/90 is high.
High blood pressure (hypertension) can silently damage your heart and blood vessels over time, so regular checks are important.
